Opt out of sharing with Meta

When you sign up for one of our town sites, we send Meta (Facebook and Instagram) a limited sign-up record, including a scrambled copy of your email address, so we can see whether our ads work. Some state laws treat this as a “sale” or “targeted advertising.” You can tell us to stop. Exactly what we send.

Opting out doesn’t change your newsletter or your account. You don’t need an account to opt out, and we won’t email you to confirm.

Other ways to opt out

• Email dave@townbrief.com with the subject “No Meta.”
• Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser before you sign up. We honor it automatically.
• In your Facebook or Instagram settings, you can also limit how Meta uses information from businesses like us, under “Your activity off Meta technologies.”
