By accessing or using any Townbrief website, publication, or service (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Townbrief is operated by Dave Watkins (“we,” “us”).
2. Accounts
You may need to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes.
3. Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are governed by our Subscription, Trial & Cancellation Terms, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. By subscribing, you agree to recurring billing at the rate and interval selected at checkout.
4. Content & Intellectual Property
All articles, transcripts, data, and other content published through the Service are owned by Townbrief or its licensors. You may read, share links, and quote brief excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
5. API & Data Access
Access to the Townbrief MCP API and data tools is subject to a separate API key agreement and usage limits. Automated access without authorization is prohibited.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service; or (d) use automated means to access the Service except through authorized APIs.
7. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. While we strive for accuracy, our coverage is generated with the assistance of AI and reviewed by a human editor. We do not guarantee that all content is error-free.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Townbrief shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
